A polished look. Stitched into every detail.
Custom embroidery adds texture, dimension, and a professional finish to your apparel. From a subtle logo on a polo to a bold design on a hat, it’s a lasting way to represent your business, team, or organization.
Left Coast helps you select the right products and translate your artwork into embroidery that works with the fabric, placement, and size of your design.
Outfit your people. Represent your brand.
Embroidery is a popular choice for employee apparel, customer gifts, and merchandise that calls for an elevated finish.
Popular options include:
- Hats and beanies
- Polos and button-down shirts
- Jackets, vests, and fleece
- Sweatshirts and pullovers
- Bags and other accessories
Designed for the stitch
Embroidery works differently from printing. Small lettering, fine lines, and intricate details may need adjustments to reproduce clearly in thread.
We’ll review your artwork and guide you through sizing, placement, and thread colors. Your design is then digitized—a process that creates the stitch instructions used by our embroidery machines.
Whether you’re putting together a coordinated staff wardrobe or adding embroidered pieces to your merchandise collection, we’ll help you create a consistent look.

Embroidery Tips
Getting your order to you on time is a team effort. Prompt approval of your artwork proofs, invoice, and final order details helps us keep production on schedule. Please allow approximately two weeks after all approvals to complete most orders, and let us know early if you have a specific deadline. We can often accommodate faster turnaround times as long as we know in advance and plan accordingly.
Great embroidery starts with the right combination of artwork, garment, and placement. We’ll help you choose an approach that brings your design to life while keeping your finished items comfortable and looking their best.
Our standard pricing includes up to 8,000 stitches.
That’s enough for many typical hat-front and left-chest designs. Larger or more detailed designs may require additional stitches, and we’ll explain any added costs before production.
Give small details room to breathe.
Thread has thickness, so very small lettering and fine lines may not reproduce clearly. As a general guideline, aim for lettering at least 5 mm tall and lines at least 1 mm wide. The best minimum size depends on the lettering style, fabric, and design—we’ll review your artwork and recommend adjustments.
Keep your design clear and simple.
Bold shapes, readable lettering, and well-spaced elements tend to embroider best. Simplifying small details can make your finished design cleaner and easier to recognize.
Consider the fabric and how the item will be worn.
Large, densely stitched areas can feel heavy or stiff on lightweight garments and items worn close to the skin. Structured hats and sturdy bags generally accommodate heavier designs better. Leaving open space between elements can help improve comfort and flexibility.
Be open to artwork adjustments.
Some artwork needs a little refinement to translate well into thread. Our experienced designers can adjust lettering, simplify details, or change spacing while preserving the character of your original design. We’ll walk you through our recommendations before moving forward.
Explore appliqué.
Appliqué combines fabric shapes with embroidery to create a distinctive look, especially for larger lettering and designs. We offer options for a variety of items. Contact us to discuss your project and pricing.
A little planning helps everything run smoothly. Most orders require approximately two weeks after invoice & artwork approval. Share your deadline early so we can plan around it and let you know what’s possible.
Tell us when you need your order in hand.
If your merchandise is for an event, trip, or launch, give us the date you need to receive it, not just the event date. Allow time for shipping and any preparation you’ll need to do afterward.
Send your artwork early.
Getting your artwork to us at the beginning gives us time to review it, make any necessary adjustments, and prepare your proof. If you need design help, let us know so we can include that in the schedule.
Finalize garment styles, colors, sizes, and quantities.
We need your complete selections before ordering your garments. Finalizing these details early gives us time to confirm availability, receive the products, and address any supplier issues.
Review your proof and invoice promptly.
Check your artwork, spelling, print locations, garment details, and quantities carefully. Your approvals allow us to move forward with purchasing and production. Changes after approval may affect the price or completion date.
Keep feedback clear and together.
When requesting revisions, describe each change as specifically as possible. If several people are reviewing the project, send one combined list of feedback to help reduce extra rounds of proofs.
Be open to production recommendations.
We may suggest adjustments to artwork, sizing, or placement to help your design print well. Small differences between an on-screen proof and a finished garment are normal, and exact placement can vary slightly during production.
Let us know when plans change.
Changes to artwork, products, or quantities can affect the schedule. Tell us as soon as possible, and we’ll explain the options and any impact on your deadline.
Working with a tight deadline? Ask us.
Rush orders can often be accommodated depending on garment availability, project requirements, and our production schedule. When we can accommodate a shorter turnaround without an additional charge, we’re happy to do so.
Have a deadline in mind? Tell us when you request your quote so we can help you plan.
Custom embroidery is a lasting investment in how your team and brand look. A few smart choices about your design, garments, and quantities can help you get more value from every order.
Stay within our standard stitch count.
Our standard pricing includes up to 8,000 stitches, which covers many hat-front and left-chest designs. Keeping your design within that range, or slightly reducing its size, helps avoid added costs.
Simplify large filled areas.
Big, solid areas of stitching add stitches and production time. Outlines, open space, and simplified details can lower the stitch count while keeping your design recognizable.
Use our stock thread colors.
Choose from our large selection of stock thread colors at no additional cost. If your brand needs an exact color match, we can custom order thread and will explain any added cost upfront.
Order more at one time.
Combining your needs into one larger order generally lowers the cost per piece compared with placing several smaller orders. Think ahead to new hires, upcoming events, and seasonal needs.
Reuse the same design and placement.
Using one design in the same size and location across hats, polos, jackets, and bags keeps production simple and makes reorders quick and consistent.
Choose one embroidery location.
Each additional location adds production time and cost. A clean left-chest or hat-front logo can make a strong, professional impression on its own.
Choose a budget-friendly garment.
We carry options at a wide range of price points. We’ll help you find hats, polos, and outerwear that balance cost, comfort, and durability for your project.
Share your budget early.
Knowing your target price helps us recommend the right products, design size, and quantities from the start.
